PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to cut a coated layer of a plastic optical fiber cable in horizontal and vertical directions without causing damages to a plastic optical fiber. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a vertical cutter including a first member and a second member each of which has a handle and a cutter having a recessed semi-circular cutter blade, wherein the first and second members are coupled by a shaft in such a manner that the first and second members rotate in an opposite direction when the handle is pressed and form a single circle by the cutter blades contacting each other; and a horizontal cutter(200) including a lower plate(210), supports(221,222), and cutters(231,232). The lower plate has a groove(211) for permitting a plastic optical fiber cable(10) to be disposed in a lengthwise direction. The supports have grooves formed on the bottom surfaces of the supports, respectively. The supports are mounted on the lower plate in such a manner that the plastic optical fiber cable disposed in the groove of the lower plate is supported by the coupling of the groove of the lower plate and the grooves of the supports. The cutters are arranged at both sides of the groove formed at the lower plate in such a manner that the cutters cut, in a lengthwise direction, a coated layer(12) protruded from the lower plate.
