PURPOSE: A method for complementing an earphone sensing error of a cellular phone is provided to drive a timer when an earphone is connected to an earphone jack, and to inform the cellular phone that a correct earphone button is inputted in case the earphone button is pressed from a moment when the timer driving is terminated, thereby preventing wrong operations of the cellular phone generated by the earphone sensing error. CONSTITUTION: If a user connects an earphone to an earphone jack(S10), a controller outputs a timer driving signal for driving a timer. The timer is driven(S20), and terminates the driving process at a designated time. If an earphone button input signal is transmitted(S30), the controller checks whether the timer driving is terminated in order to decide whether the earphone button input signal is caused by a correct earphone button input or by a sensing error(S40). If the earphone button input signal is transmitted after the timer driving is terminated, the controller recognizes that the correct input signal is received(S50).
