PURPOSE: A head gasket for absorbing clearance is provided to improve the durability and sealing efficiency and prevent crack and leak by restricting the clearance between the liner and the cylinder block with mounting the head gasket including plural metal layers including elongated splits and a metal layer excluding the split in the cylinder block and the cylinder head. CONSTITUTION: A head gasket(10) for a vehicle is inserted between a cylinder block and a cylinder head to seal by contacting the cylinder block and the cylinder head and prevent leakage of coolant and engine oil. Elongated hole type splits(11) are formed in the head gasket to prevent crack from clearance between the cylinder block and the liner. The head gasket is formed by integrally combing metal layers including plural bead plates having splits with a bead plate without splits. The splits are formed around the clearance of a bolt boss and the liner, the clearance of the cylinder block and the liner, and the clearance of the liners.
