METHOD FOR LOCALIZE FAULT OF DC FEEDING LINE OF RAILWAY VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A method for localizing a fault of a DC feeding line of a railway vehicle is provided to calculate correctly a fault point due to a disconnection fault or an earth fault by using the voltage and the current between both ends of a substation. CONSTITUTION: A disconnection fault and an earth fault are determined from a fault selection relay by obtaining the current from one of the first and the second substations(P1,P2), which are located at both sides of an electric vehicle line. The voltage between both ends of the first and the second substations is measured by calculating a loop equation for a disconnection circuit, which is formed by a disconnection block or an earth fault block. A fault resistor is removed by subtracting the first substation from the second substation or the second substation from the first substation. The distance between the first or the second substations and a fault position is calculated thereby.
