METHOD FOR PRODUCING TEST PIECE EMBEDDING FATIGUE CRACKS

PURPOSE: A method for producing a test piece embedding fatigue cracks is provided to simulate actual fatigue cracks generated at a welded thermal-effected zone and to be useful for a performance demonstration of a tube of a nuclear instrument by securing 95% reliability for the sizes and positions of defects. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing a test piece embedding fatigue cracks is composed of steps for preparing a fatigue test piece(20a) having a bar(22) extended from one section of a body(21); forming a notch to the periphery at which the bar and the body of the prepared fatigue test piece are jointed; fracturing the fatigue test piece by applying tensile fatigue load to separate the bar and the body of the fatigue test piece; and seal-welding the other body(27) with contacting the other body to the fractured surface of the fatigue test piece formed by separating the bar.
