MAGNETRON FOR MICROWAVE OVEN

PURPOSE: A magnetron is provided to reduce power consumption and achieve improved output of microwave by adjusting the size of the lower surface of the upper pole piece so as to efficiently attenuate harmonics. CONSTITUTION: A magnetron comprises a yoke; an anode cylinder arranged in the yoke; a plurality of vanes arranged in the anode cylinder; a filament arranged on the central shaft of the vane; upper and lower magnets arranged on and beneath the anode cylinder; and an upper pole piece(70a) and a lower pole piece arranged between the anode cylinder and the upper and lower magnets in such a manner that lower surfaces(74) of the upper pole piece are opposed with each other, wherein the lower surfaces have hollows(73). The distance measured from the outer end of the lower surface of the upper pole piece to the inner end of the lower surface of the upper pole piece where the hollow is formed, is adjusted to constitute a circuit for attenuating harmonics.
