PURPOSE: Provided is a benzotriazole compound which is effectively used as a multi-functional ultraviolet stabilizer with the functions of absorbing ultraviolet rays and capturing radicals, and involves excellent weatherability. CONSTITUTION: A benzotriazole compound comprises 2-(2'-hydroxy-4'-benzoic methylpiperidinyl ester)-2H-benzotriazole, expressed by the formula(1), or 2-(2'-hydroxy-5'-benzoic methylpiperidinyl ester)-2H-benzotriazole, expressed by the formula(2). In the formulas 1 and 2, R2 and R3 are hydrogen, and alkyl ester or carboxyl group, and R4 is hydrogen or alkyl group.
