The back pack for an inflatable jacket has straps (3) with ends (7,8) connected to a pocket (2). The straps has an attachment (10) with retainers (11) connected by fixings (13) which allow the retainers to separate in a security configuration. The retainers separate if a force above a set level is exerted on the straps.
