The method involves varying rate of message transmission in an emission window to send the message several times inside the window. Each message presents a characteristic for start and end of the message, and contains identification indicating content of data. Two messages transmitted several times in the window are compared and a defect is estimated in case of deviation between the messages. An Independent claim is also included for a bus system equipped with a transmission device.
