Electrically regulated variable light-transmitting glass is prepared with the aid of a polymer layer having specialized characteristics. Such layers may be sandwiched between two light-transmitting supports or used directly provided they are self-supporting gels. The transparency of specialized light transmitting glass surfaces may be controlled by switching an electric circuit on and off. Glass possessing electrically adjustable light-transparency is suitable for exterior and interior use, as for windows, partitions, paneling, or surfacing, for vehicle windows, novel signs, and advertising substrates. |
