COSMETIC COMPOSITION, WHICH IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR DARK HAIR AND EXHIBITS SUN PROTECTION AGAINST UV RADIATION, PROTECTION OF HAIR FIBER CHEMICAL STRUCTURE, PROTECTION AND RETENTION OF HAIR COLOR AND APPROPRIATE GLOSS, COMPRISING EXTRACT OF ROSEMARY, HENNA, MELANIN AND SUNFLOWER SEEDS

PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition comprising an extract of rosemary, henna, melanin and sunflower seeds which are naturally-occurring components and suitable for manufacture of a finished cosmetic composition by combining with acceptable cosmetic bases is provided. It is particularly useful for dark hair and exhibits sun protection against UV radiation, protection of hair fiber chemical structure, protection and retention of hair color and appropriate gloss. CONSTITUTION: The cosmetic composition comprises: (1) 0.001 to 10% by weight of rosemary(Rosmarinus officinalis) extract; (2) 0.001 to 10% by weight of henna(Lawsonia inermis) extract; (3) 0.000005 to 5% by weight of melanin; and additionally 0.0001 to 10% by weight of sunflower seeds(Helianthus annus extract) and a cosmetically acceptable shampoo base composition. The base composition contains nonionic, anionic and amphoteric surfactants and a mixture thereof, sun-screening agents, conditioners, humectants, fragrances, chelating agents, tackifiers, preservatives, color fixing agents, pearling agents and a carrier which is generally used for formulation of a cosmetic composition.
