The stamping press for sheet metal strip has a frame (14) with a press tool (16) which moves vertically and receives the strip (17). A support (28) carries and unreels a spool of metal strip adjacent to the press to feed the latter. The press has a strip support table received between the uprights (22) of the frame and positioned between the tool and the spool and which carries a strip feed (24).
