PURPOSE: A method for providing information in a digital TV is provided to improve the use of information of the digital TV in an automatic turn-on time by quickly providing local information for which a user wishes in the automatic turn-on time set by the user. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV acquires region and information types from lift information of additional information of each channel broadcasting signal according to the request of a user, and displays the acquired region and information types(S20). The user selects an automatic turn-on setup time and the desired region and information type, and sets an automatic turn-on function(S20). If a current time arrives at the automatic turn-on setup time in a standby mode state(S40), the digital TV turns on power(S41). The digital TV extracts detailed information corresponding to the region and information type selected by the user from additional information of the broadcasting signal of a corresponding channel, and displays detailed information(S42-S46). |
