PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply voltage to a display panel (for example, a liquid crystal panel) that is carried by a transport mechanism without routing an electric wire. SOLUTION: A voltage application apparatus comprises the transport mechanism 20 for carrying the liquid crystal panel 20 and a voltage application roller 30. A number of terminals (electrode patterns) 11, 12, and a common wiring pattern for commonly connecting each terminal are formed on the substrate surface of the liquid crystal panel 10. The voltage application roller 30 is made of a conductive material, and is arranged so that the peripheral surface of the voltage application roller 30 rolls and contacts with the terminals (electrode patterns) 11, 12 formed on the substrate surface of the liquid crystal panel 10. Voltage is supplied from a power supply 50 to the voltage application roller 30. When the liquid crystal panel 10 is carried by the transport mechanism 20, the voltage application roller 30 comes into contact with the parts of the terminals (electrode patterns) 11, 12 in the liquid crystal panel 10 and voltage is applied to the liquid crystal panel 10 via the voltage application roller 30.
