PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage facility of a radioactive material capable of widening effectively a storage region of the radioactive material, and performing farsighted extension of only storage areas, concerning the storage facility having the plurality of storage areas. SOLUTION: This storage facility of the radioactive material has the plurality of storage areas for storing containers wherein the radioactive material is enclosed, a conveyance passage for connecting mutually the plurality of storage areas and conveying the containers, a carrying in/out area for carrying the containers into the storage areas or carrying out them therefrom, and an inspection area for inspecting the containers. The facility has characteristics wherein both the carrying in/out area and the inspection area are provided in one storage area and the conveyance passage is in contact with the inspection area or the carrying in/out area.
