The operating device includes a cylinder in which a piston can be displaced axially. These form a working cavity for a gas. The pressurized surfaces (19a, 19b, 21a, 21b) of the piston (9) and/or the cylinder (7) have an axial recess (33, 35) towards the opposite pressurized surface. A filling body may be fitted inside the working cavity (15).
