<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control method for a hybrid vehicle which can reduce engagement shocks caused by under-shooting in off-upshifting. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine and a motor generator as a driving source and an automatic transmission to achieve a prescribed transmission stage by the engagement of frictional engagement elements. When upshifting of the automatic transmission from a low speed stage to a high speed stage is executed in a power-off state, negative motor torque M<SB>1</SB>smaller than its immediately preceding motor torque is generated by the motor generator during a prescribed period until the number of input rotations of the automatic transmission is lowered from the number of the input rotations at the low speed stage to the number of synchronous rotations on the high speed stage side. And at the same time, when the number of the input rotations of the automatic transmission becomes below the number of the synchronous rotations on the high speed stage side, positive motor torque M<SB>3</SB>larger than its immediately preceding motor torque is generated by the motor generator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
