<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new enzyme used for dephosphorylating an actin depolymerization factor, cofilin, and originated from human being or mouse, and to provide a gene therefor. <P>SOLUTION: This gene originated from human being or mouse encodes each protein (mSSH-1L, -2L, -3L, or hSSH-2L, -3L) comprising a specific amino acid sequence originated from a mammal. As the result of function analysis, it was found that the mSSH-1L, -2L, -3L reduced cofilin-phosphorilation levels in cells, respectively. The protein is estimated to participate in the control of actin cell skeletons by the dephosphorylation of the cofilin, and can thereby be expected to be widely used on medicine and on industry. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
