PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct-type methanol fuel cell system or the like in which electric power can be supplied to loads stably over a long period of time, to be practical thereby.

SOLUTION: This system has an electromotive part to generate power by a chemical reaction by a flow of a methanol aqueous solution as a fuel into an anode flow-path provided on one face side of an electrolyte film, and by a flow of air as an oxidizer into a cathode flow-path provided on another face side, a characteristic measuring means 206 to measure electric current and voltage characteristics of the electric power generated in this electromotive part, and an external load supply means to supply the electric power generated in the electromotive part to the external load based on the electric current and voltage characteristics measured by this characteristic measuring means.
