PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate backlash between a follower projection and its guide part in the rotation transfer mechanism for a lens barrel or the like. SOLUTION: The mechanism is equipped with a rotation transfer ring having a plurality of rotation transfer grooves parallel with an optical axis on its inner peripheral surface, an extending guide ring having a plurality of through-lead grooves inclined in an optical axis direction and a peripheral direction and a plurality of through-peripheral direction grooves communicating with the lead grooves and positioned inside the rotation transfer ring, a movable ring having a plurality of follower projections engaged in the rotation transfer grooves so as not to relatively move in a rotating direction but to slide in the optical axis direction, and a ring spring having a plurality of follower pressing parts fit in the respective rotation transfer grooves, supported on the inner peripheral surface of the rotation transfer ring and elastically deformed in the optical axis direction. The follower projections are separated from the follower pressing parts of the ring spring at relative positions where they are engaged in the lead grooves, and abut on the follower pressing parts at relative positions where they are engaged in the through-peripheral direction grooves, whereby the ring spring is elastically deformed.
