The invention concerns a downloading method comprising: a step which consists in proposing the downloading of a file, during which a terminal (8) transmits via a network (11) to a central system (10), a descriptive card the file to be downloaded, which is inserted in a database (4); a step which consists in searching for a file to be downloaded, during which a terminal transmits search criteria to a search engine (2) which transmits in response a list of files corresponding to the criteria received; and a step of downloading during which a first terminal transmits a file identifier to a second terminal which transmits in response the descriptive card, of the requested file, the first terminal transmits a payment order and the descriptive file to a payment server (3) transmits in response the evidence of payment, and the first terminal transmits the evidence of payment to the second terminal which transmits in response the requested file.
