A corrosion-inhibited system for providing a utility service to a plurality of consumers includes a plurality of metallic utility service structures, each utility service structure having components buried in a common electrolyte and electrically connected to each other through an electrical utility service connected to an electric utility supply common to each of the consumers in the plurali ty of consumers. The system further includes a single protection apparatus includi ng at least one anode in physical contact with the common electrolyte. The syst em further includes a conductor physically connecting the single protection apparatus to only one of the utility service structures.
