摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which can deal with a higher line speed and higher density and has excellent repetition properties and storage properties. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a recording layer which is formed of a thin film by sputtering on a disk surface, is crystallized by irradiation with faint electromagnetic fields under rotation of the disk face and is changed in phases between an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase by irradiation with the electromagnetic waves. The medium has protective layers and reflection layers for reflecting the electromagnetic waves in at least the upper and lower parts of the recording layers. While a sample stripped of the reflection layers and protective layers of the medium having the crystallized recording layer is rotated 360&deg; in the intra-surface diffraction of the disk face for detecting the diffracted X-ray approximately parallel to the disk surface by making the X-ray incident on the disk face approximately parallel thereto, the intensity I of the next diffraction peak, i.e., the intensity I of the diffraction peak being &theta;=13.5 to 15&deg; from the disk face in the incident angle of the X-ray of a spacing d=2.97 to 3.3 &angst; and 2&theta;=27 to 30&deg; in the angle of the diffraction in the X-ray diffraction spectra using K&alpha; ray of copper as a light source of the incident X-ray is measured. At this time, the crystal phase of the medium has the maximal value at the angle corresponding to crystal face parallel to the tangent direction of the circumference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
