<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receipt issuing system for allowing a customer to easily set his or her desired receipt issuing method, and for reducing any troublesome work in a selling task. <P>SOLUTION: In this receipt issuing system for issuing a receipt when performing the accounting processing of the purchased merchandise of a customer, an information setting device 16 sets the presence of the performance of electronic receipt issuing processing as a receipt issuing method and receipt printing processing according to the inputting operation of a customer under the control of a CPU 11. When the performance of the electronic receipt issue processing is set by the information setting device 16, the CPU 11 generates electronic receipt information based on the accounting processing, and informs the customer of the electronic receipt information by a predetermined method.
