<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber for laser machining with a function of detecting reflected light (return light) from a laser machining part. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber 1, used for laser machining, is equipped with a clad 5 which has a lower refractive index than a core 3 at the outer circumference of the core 3, an outer core 7 which has a higher refractive index than the clad 5 at the outer circumference of the clad 5, and a coating material 9 at the outer circumference of the outer core 7, and further equipped with a return light leak part 13, which leaks return light out when the return light of laser light LB projected from an end surface 11 of the optical fiber 11 is incident on the outer core 7, on the outer circumferential surface of an end part where the coating material 9 is removed and a sensor 21 which detects the leak of the laser light from the return light leak part 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
