PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system providing a favorable operability while securing the safety during traveling. SOLUTION: This car navigation system is provided with a display means 6 displaying respective types of operation items, an operating means 2 selecting from the displayed operation items, a voice output means 7 outputting the contents of the selected item by voice, a vehicle traveling state detecting means detecting the stop state and the traveling state of the vehicle, and an output change means 9 erasing the contents of the operation item from the display means, when the traveling state of the vehicle is detected by the vehicle traveling state detecting means 3, displaying an item frame alone and outputting the contents of the item by voice.
