PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt control method that is made suitable to an optical disk recording/reproducing device in which recording/reproducing operations of signals to and from a disk are conducted by an optical pickup. SOLUTION: In the optical disk recording/reproducing device, an optical pickup 2 having a tilt adjusting coil 6, that is used to adjust tilt of an objective lens is provided. A peak level of RF signals obtained from the pickup 2 is detected while varying the signals of the coil 6 for offset detection. When the detected peak level becomes a maximum, the level of the signals being supplied to the coil 6 is set as an offset value and tilt control is conducted by adding the offset value to the tilt signals that conduct the tilt control.
