PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing controller by which proper heater output is obtained without being affected by the variance (within tolerance) of a heater. SOLUTION: In the fixing controller provided with a fixing unit 1 possessing the heater 3 and a temperature detecting element 2 and a controlling means 5 where the turn-on duty cycle of the heater within specified control time is made variable so as to obtain the proper heater output, the correction of the turn-on duty cycle of the heater is performed so as to realize optimum heater energizing control in actual environment by the controlling means 5. Concretely, temperature and time characteristics are obtained under a certain set condition, and the turn-on duty cycle of the heater is corrected in accordance with its inclination, so that the optimum heater output is always obtained regardless of the output variance (within tolerance) of the heater 3.
