PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating agent for forming a hollow-containing layer, with which the inner structure of the layer can be controlled and, in addition, the layer is formed through easy processes, by solving problems concerning difficulty of controlling the shape of the hollow, complicated processes, necessity of a large-scale apparatus, or the like; to provide a method for producting a structural body with the hollow-containing layer using the coating agent; and the structural body with the hollow-containing layer. SOLUTION: The coating agent for forming the hollow-containing layer is composed of at least three members of a photopolymerizable compound which is liquid at room temperature, a solvent which causes phase separation from the photopolymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator. The production of the structural body with the hollow-containing layer is characterized in that, after irradiating active energy rays onto a whole coated face containing the solvent in the state of phase separation, formed by applying the coating agent for forming the layer at least onto a substrate, the dispersed solvent alone is selectively volatilized to form the hollows.
