PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding device equipped with a contact roller ensuring the quality of a winding roll improved particularly in large effective width and high winding speed. SOLUTION: This winding device for a sheet-like material, particularly a plastic film, is provided with at least one bearing unit 5 acting on the pressing peripheral surface of the contact roller 4 to support the contact roller 4, between the end parts of the contact roller 4. The contact roller 4 can be constituted to be easily bendable and has a comparatively small diameter, and there is an advantage of being able to control and adjust the flexural line and the damping characteristic of the pressing force of the contact roller 4 between the end parts of the contact roller 4 through the bearing unit 5.
