Electronic endoscope system in which both video and control signals are transmitted over a single coaxial cable (33) by converting the signals to a high frequency signal using a radio communication method. An electromagnetic coupling arrangement with primary and secondary coils (24a, 24b) is used to supply the endoscope with energy via electromagnetic induction.
