The seat belt system comprises two shoulder straps (1), a pelvis strap (2), and a crotch strap (4) to be adjusted with buckles (3, 5) in the center of the backrest, the seat area, respectively. The shoulder straps (1) are guided through slots (7) provided at the upper edge of the backrest to a holding plate (9) positioned at the rear of the backrest and back to a fixing point (8). The crotch belt (4) is guided around the lower surface of the seat and also attached to the plate (9). For adjusting the length of the belts (1, 2, 4) the holding plate (9) can be vertically moved between the fixing point (8) and a stop (12).
