An electrical disc brake for a motor vehicle comprises a piston (4) to push a shoe (P) onto a rotor (R) through a ball ramp mechanism having a ball and two turning clamps (10,12) operated by an electric motor. An arc groove (14) of gradually changing depth grips the ball (11) and the relative turn is limited to a predetermined angle to prevent too strong a turn.
