<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is not damaged nor adversely effected by heat of an electrical contact part of a fixing device, is miniaturized and space-saving, and effectively suppresses a rise in internal atmosphere temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a fixing roller (heating element) 3 which is heated by at least a heat source and thermally fixes an unfixed image formed on a recording medium S in advance to the surface of the recording medium S by the application of heat from the fixing roller 3; an exhaust heat fan (exhaust heat means) 11 with which heat generated by the fixing device 1 is forced out of the apparatus; and an exhaust heat duct 9. In the image forming apparatus, a fixing drawer 7 and a main body drawer 8 which serve as the electrical contact part between the fixing device 1 and the main body of the image forming apparatus is disposed within the exhaust heat duct 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
