<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely inexpensively produce iron powder which can be produced at high productivity without using large-scale production equipment, and is excellent in the decomposition efficiency of an organic chlorine based compound, and does not newly contaminate the environment when used as a soil cleaning agent. <P>SOLUTION: Dust in an exhaust gas produced in the process of refining from a converter for steel making is collected to recover steel making dust 22 from the exhaust gas. The recovered steel making dust is sorted by a magnetic separation stage 23, and is separated into magnetic products 24 and non-magnetic products 25. Then, the magnetic products 24 are subjected to cleaning 26 with water to remove depositions, so that iron powder 27 is produced from the steel making dust. In this case, it is preferable that the steel making dust is coarse-grained dust 19 recovered from slurry-like dust collection water recovered with a wet dust collector by using a coarse grain separator set on the upstream side of a thickener, the content of metal iron in the iron powder is ≥70 mass%, and the obtained iron powder 27 is kept in water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
