<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the process for realizing proper color drawing of a compressed image included in a page layout. <P>SOLUTION: When a print server detects a compressed image of an EPS(JPEG) format or the like of color plates of CMYK, the server sets a CMS in response to the color plates when processing, and processes to convert CMYK values. At this time, when the C color plate is, for example, processed, the c value of the compressed image is transformed to a K value (K<SB>C</SB>value) by using the CMS 40C for the C color plate. Thus, the K values (K<SB>C</SB>, K<SB>M</SB>, K<SB>Y</SB>, and K<SB>K</SB>) output from the CMS 40C, 40M, 40Y and 40K are transformed to the CMYK values.
