<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition affording a colored image having excellent hue and fastness and to provide an ink composition for ink-jet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The coloring composition comprises a compound represented by general formula (I) dye-(X)n(Y)m (wherein, dye denotes a coloring matter partial structure; X and Y denote each a substituent of the dye; X denotes a group selected from a sulfo group and its salt, a carboxy group and its salt, an amino group, a hydroxy group and a monovalent substituent having at least any one of the substituents; Y denotes a substituent derived from X; n denotes an integer of ≥0; and m denotes an integer of ≥1) and can be used for the ink-jet recording. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
