<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle capable of reducing a sense of incongruity due to restriction of the seat belt. <P>SOLUTION: The seat belt device for the vehicle is equipped with a first pretensioner 16 for winding a webbing 11 to a retractor 12 by a desired tension, a second pretensioner 17 applying a tension to the webbing in an emergency to finally restrain an occupant, a brake-pedal stroke sensor 20 detecting a manipulated amount of a brake of the vehicle, a laser radar 51 detecting an obstacle in front of the vehicle, and a first controller 30 controlling the tension by the first pretensioner 16 based on the detection data of the brake-pedal stroke sensor 20 and the detection data of the laser radar 51. When the determination condition of either the control based on the detection data of the brake-pedal stroke sensor 20 or the control based on the detection data of the laser radar 51 is established, the first controller 30 reduces the sensitivity to establish the determination condition of the other control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
