PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having improved coated surface conditions and improved water resistance, as a photosensitive material coated with water-based coating liquid. SOLUTION: In the heat developable photosensitive material having, on the same face of a support, an image forming layer comprising a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder and a non-photosensitive layer situated further from the support than the image forming layer, the non-photosensitive layer comprises at least two layers,≥50 mass% of a binder in a first non-photosensitive layer close to the image forming layer comprises a water-soluble polymer derived from animal protein, and≥50 mass% of a binder in a second non-photosensitive layer further from the image forming layer comprises a water-soluble polymer not derived from animal protein.
