PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable metallic sealed vessel capable of securing a light weight and high rigidity, and capable of evading stress concentration in a joined part of a lid body to keep high sealability in any situation, and a radioactive material storage vessel for storing the metallic vessel. SOLUTION: In this metallic sealed vessel 20 provided with a substantially cylindrical vessel main body 21 having a closed lower end and an opening part in its upper end, and the lid body 23 attached to the opening part of the main body 21, a support structure 25 abutting to a bottom part of the lid body 23 from the bottom part of the vessel main body 21, or inserted thereinto, to support the lid body 23 is joined to an inner wall face of the vessel main body 21.
