PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a UOE steel tube of excellent seam welding strength characteristic and internal pressure fatigue characteristic for stabilizing the strength of a seam-welded portion and a HAZ of the high strength UOE steel tube, and enhancing the internal pressure fatigue strength of the UOE steel tube for general purpose use. SOLUTION: In a UOE steel tube manufacturing method in which a steel plate is successively subjected to C-forming, U-forming, and O-forming, end portions of the steel plate are seam-welded to each other, and a tube is expanded, at least a seam-weld toe portion after the expansion is subjected to peening by the ultrasonic vibration.
