PURPOSE: An apparatus for handling a multipurpose Cf-252 neutron source is provided to minimize the exposure from radiation by using a fixing shield body and a movable shield body and moving simultaneously the movable shield body and the neutron source capsule. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for handling a multipurpose Cf-252 neutron source includes a fixing shield body, a movable shield body, a capsule, and a shield cover. The shield body(3) includes a loading hole(11) and a plurality of irradiation holes(13). The movable shield body(5) is inserted into the loading hole. The movable shield body includes an internal shaft hole(15). The capsule is stored into the internal shaft hole. A movable bar(17) is inserted into the internal shaft hole. The capsule is coupled to one end of the movable bar. The shield cover(9) includes an insertion hole(19). The movable bar is inserted into the insertion hole. The shield cover is inserted into the loading hole of the shield body.
