PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system capable of making a speech with both an operator and a voice automatic responding apparatus. SOLUTION: The information providing system comprises: an information acquisition apparatus 10 mounted on a vehicle such as an automobile; and an information providing apparatus 20 installed in an information center. The information acquisition apparatus 10 at the vehicle side includes: a communication apparatus 11; a voice processing filter circuit 12; and a microphone 13. The voice processing filter 12 alternatively performs a first voice processing for processing a voice signal to obtain a reproduced voice which people can easily hear and a second voice processing for processing the voice signal to improve a recognition rate of a voice recognition apparatus 23. The information providing apparatus 20 at the information center side includes: a communication apparatus 21; a line switching unit 22; the voice recognition apparatus 23 (voice portal apparatus 25); and an operator speech unit 24. The line switching unit 22 alternatively switches a voice line to either of the voice portal apparatus 25 and the operator speech unit 24. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
