PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor with reliability and stability improved by preventing collision of a compression part and an inner face of a casing. SOLUTION: This linear compressor has a casing, a drive part installed in the casing, a compression part driven by the drive part and compressing a refrigerant, and a support spring elastically supporting the compression part. The linear compressor includes a limit protrusion projected to any one of the compression part and a ceiling part of the casing; and a stopper installed to the other one and accommodating the limit protrusion in a manner to vary within a predetermined variation range.
