PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rearview mirror defrosting system that essentially provides a means for reducing erroneous operations of a defrosting device installed in a vehicle's side-mounted rearview mirror. SOLUTION: A vehicle is fitted with the exterior mirror 22, in which the defrosting device 23 is installed. The mirror 22 is provided with a means 24 for displaying visual display when the defrosting device 23 is operating. When the driver operates a manual switch in the vehicle, an electric current flows from the vehicle's power source to the defrosting device 23 and then to the display means 24, displaying one or a plurality of appropriate symbols on the display means 24.
