PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control heat generation from a driver circuit by decreasing the capacitance of an actuator unit. SOLUTION: An ink jet head 1 comprises a channel unit 10 and an actuator unit 20 bonded each other. A pressure chamber 16 is interposed between manifolds 11a, 11b and an ejection opening 54 of the channel unit 10. The actuator unit 20 comprises piezoelectric sheets 21a-21f, discrete electrodes 24a and 24b interposed between them, and a common electrode 25. The discrete electrodes 24a and 24b are arranged, while being paired, in a region corresponding to one pressure chamber 16 and active parts 61a and 61b are formed between the discrete electrodes 24a and 24b and the common electrode 25. When the actuator unit 20 is driven, the piezoelectric sheet elongates in the thickness direction in the active parts 61a and 61b and a region Ly formed between them to reduce the total area of the pressure chamber 16.
