PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calking method of a nut for mounting a nut on the peripheral edge of a mounting hole which is formed on the object to be mounted without using welding. SOLUTION: A cylindrical part 21 to be calked is projectingly provided on one end face of a nut 2. A calking tool 3 is composed by providing a screwing part 31 where is screwed with the nut 2, a calking part 32 for calking the part 21 to be calked and a rotary part 33. The part 21 to be calked of the nut 2 is inserted from one side of the mounting hole 12 and projected to the other side, the nut 2 is held with a holding member for preventing the rotation of the nut 2, next, the screwing part 31 of the calking tool 3 is inserted into the part 21 to be calked of the nut 2 and screwed on a screwing hole 20 and the nut 2 is mounted on the peripheral edge 12a of the mounting hole 12 by calking the part 21 to be calked with the calking part 32 by rotating the rotary part 33 of the calking tool 3.
