METHOD OF REPAIR-PAINTING STEEL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repair-painting a steel material, which can be applied suitably to a structural steel material such as a power transmission tower and by which the repair-painting work can be simplified, the working time can be shortened and a highly anticorrosive effect can be obtained. SOLUTION: This method is used for repair-painting rusted steel material at the site and includes a surface treatment step to remove fragile rust on the surface of the steel material by hammering, a rust stabilizing agent applying step to apply a rust stabilizing agent to the rust-removed surface of the steel material and a painting step to apply anticorrosive paint to the rust stabilizing agent-applied surface of the steel material. The rust stabilizing agent to be used at the rust stabilizing agent applying step contains a water-based solvent and a resin containing a compound having chelate forming ability.
