PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the plate mounting structure of a chair by which plates such as a backrest plate, a seat plate can simply and firmly be fixed and the plates can simply be removed from the chair frame as needed. SOLUTION: The plates 20 and 30 are fixed to the chair frame 10 with rivets 50. Each rivet 50 is provided with: a nearly cylindrical metallic rivet body 60 provided with a flange 62 at the outer periphery of an upper end; and a metallic force-fit pin 70 provided with a head 73 at the upper end of a shaft 71. A head housing recess part 63 is formed at the upper surface of the flange 62, and a pair of tool guiding grooves 65 for pulling out the pin extending to a flange peripheral end edge are formed on both sides of the recess part 63. In the state of fixing the rivet 50 by force-fitting the pin 70, the pin 73 can be pulled out by pinching a pin head part 73 from both sides by the pinching pieces 42 of a pincer 40 via the tool guiding grooves 65.
