The housing (1) of the brake servo unit (1a) is divided in a variable (6) and constantly pressurized chamber (5) regulated by a valve (46). It is provided with a flanged area (14a) facilitating the installation in the drivers cabin as well as under the bonnet. When the brake pedal (43) is pressed a pulling device (53) acts on the valve (46) connecting the variable pressurized chamber (6) with the surrounding area and enhancing the forces acting on the brake pedal (43). The brake cylinder (20) is moved creating a pressure in the fluid, which is guided to the wheel cylinders.
